This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps Health First Surrey ,a CQC-regulated phlebotomy clinic, has taken to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains.

1. Our Organisation

Health First Surrey  is an independent healthcare provider specialising in phlebotomy services and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We provide blood collection, specimen handling, and related diagnostic support services to patients, healthcare organisations, and corporate clients.

2. Our Commitment to Preventing Modern Slavery

We have zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, or any form of exploitation.

3. Our Workforce and Recruitment Practices

We follow safe, ethical, and transparent recruitment processes including identity checks, right-to-work verification, DBS checks, and fair remuneration.

4. Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain includes medical consumables, waste management, IT systems, facilities services, and laboratory/courier services. We expect all suppliers to uphold ethical and legal standards.

5. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

We conduct supplier assessments, review compliance documentation, and monitor potential risks within our supply chain.

6. Policies and Governance

We operate internal policies including Safeguarding, Whistleblowing, Recruitment and Right-to-Work, Equality & Diversity, Supplier Code of Conduct, and Anti-Modern Slavery Policy.

7. Training and Awareness

We provide modern slavery awareness training at induction and periodically thereafter.

8. Reporting Concerns

Concerns may be reported to safeguarding leads, whistleblowing channels, the CQC, local authorities, or the Modern Slavery Helpline (0800 0121 700).

9. Looking Ahead

We aim to improve supplier monitoring, enhance staff training, and conduct annual modern slavery risk reviews.

10. Approval

This statement has been approved by the directors of Health First Surrey and will be reviewed annually.
